We document your progress precisely and adapt your training plan based on the data - for optimum load control without over- or under-exertion. The result: rehab that is not based on assumptions, but on measurable facts and safe decisions for your return to sport."

When we use the force measurement

After a cruciate ligament tear, a meniscus tear or hip surgery: The lateral difference in force is one of the most important criteria before you can start running, jumping or exercising again.

After muscle injuries: For example, in the case of hamstring or calf injuries, the measurement shows whether the muscle is again fully capable of being loaded.

For shoulder problems: We measure the strength of the rotator cuff and detect imbalances that maintain the pain.

At the age of: Grip strength and leg strength are good indicators of the risk of falling. Measuring these helps to target training.

This is how a measurement works

The measurement takes only a few minutes and is painless. You press or pull against a small digital sensor while the therapist sees the values on the tablet. We always measure both sides and compare the values with the pre-measurement. We discuss the results directly with you and then recommend the next training steps.

The strength measurement is part of the normal physiotherapy session. With a medical prescription, the health insurance company covers the costs; in the event of an accident, the accident insurance does as well. For more information on how we plan for a return to sports, read the article. Return to Sport.

Which values we measure

Depending on the complaint, we measure different things: the maximum strength of a muscle or a muscle group, the lateral comparison between the injured and healthy leg or arm, the endurance of strength over several repetitions, and the mobility of a joint in degrees. From these numbers, we create a profile that we discuss with you and supplement with each further measurement. This way, you not only see that things are getting better, but also how much and where there is still room for improvement.

For whom the force measurement is useful

After knee operations, for example after a Cruciate ligament reconstruction or a prosthesis, when it comes to the question of when stairs, jogging or sports are safe again.

After shoulder and hip surgeries, to plan a return to work and everyday life with numbers instead of with emotion.

For female athletes before returning to training: Only when the difference between the sides is small enough does the risk of a recurrence of injury decrease.

In the case of older people, as part of Fall preventionLeg strength and balance can be measured and specifically trained.

In case of vague symptoms, when one side «feels weaker,» but no one knows if that’s true.

Frequently asked questions about force measurement

Does the measurement hurt?

No. You press or pull against a sensor for a few seconds as firmly as you can, painlessly. You determine the load yourself.

How long does a measurement take?

The measurement itself only takes a few minutes and is part of the normal treatment; we usually add progression measurements at the end of a session.

How often is it measured?

Regularly throughout the course of the therapy, so that changes become visible. Before returning to sports or after completing the therapy, we measure again to document the progress.

Will I receive the values?

Yes. We show you the evaluation directly on the screen, and if desired, we will pass the figures on to your doctor, for example for the decision about returning to work.

More information about our devices can be found here Our equipment, For training after the measurement in Functional training area and on the Ergometer.

Fühlt sich Ihr verletztes Bein schon wieder stark an?
